Director: Elisa Bruno
Elisa enjoyed a career in computer graphics after receiving a Bachelor’s degree from F.I.T. Her clientele was drawn from large corporations in NYC. Wanting to grow, she enrolled in the Clinical Art Therapy Master’s program at LIU with a renewed sense of direction and purpose. After working for Hofstra University Museum of Art’s public education programs she discovered new possibilities to serve others by teaching. Elisa accepted a teaching position in the interdisciplinary department of LuHi in 2021. She teaches Marketing, Entrepreneurship, and Art.
Elisa believes that in the technological age where computers and photography are so accessible, students should first explore the importance of drawing by hand. Drawing not only shows the artist’s process, it is widely used in other academic disciplines to map out processes and conceptualize ideas. It can transcend language barriers and can be used as a tool for gaining insight into our inter and intrapersonal relationships.
