Miss Kara has been directing LuHi’s Dance program for over 25 years. She received her BFA in Dance from Adelphi University and her MFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the arts. Miss Kara also danced professionally in New York City for 12 years and continues to perform and teach dance to young performers today. Miss Kara is also a certified yoga instructor and brings the practices of yoga and mindfulness to all of her programs at LuHi. She is an outstanding teacher and role model for her students and campers.

The LuHi School of Dance consists of classes in the techniques of Ballet, Modern, Tap, and Jazz/Hip-Hop. Campers are grouped by age and ability and all levels of dancers are welcome! Dancers will learn multiple pieces of choreography in different genres and perform them at a showcase at the end of the session. Our team of professional dancers and instructors focuses not only on technique and skill but also on the theatrical and artistic components of dance performance. Classes are held in our fully air-conditioned Performing Arts Center and Dance Studio.
Please note that all campers need tap shoes for the program. Campers will also need black leggings and a black t-shirt for the end-of-session recital.
