LuHi’s Equestrian Program has been designed to accommodate all levels of riding, from the first-timer to the accomplished and experienced rider. With the exception of an optional afternoon swim, students will spend their entire day in horse-related activities. NSEC’s group of experienced instructors and trainers has created a competitive yet fun environment for developing fundamental and advanced skills. Each day will include two riding sessions and specialty instruction in horse care, stable management, and horse show preparation and management. Professional equine performance demonstrations are held twice each session during lunch.
Equestrian is an off-campus program. Camp shuttles depart LuHi as close to 9:45 AM as possible to arrive at North Shore Equestrian Center by 10:00 AM. Campers eat lunch at North Shore Equestrian Center and those who are on the LuHi lunch program will choose from the cold selections from our cafeteria. Camp shuttles arrive back at LuHi by 3:00 PM.
Please note that all campers need a riding helmet, riding crop, and low-heeled boots. Long, sturdy pants are also highly encouraged. Campers cannot ride in shorts.
