DIRECTOR

Jesus Valdes

Jesus Valdes has been teaching high school social studies for over 20 years at Commack High School. He has coached multiple sports including girls badminton, football, and girls basketball. Jesus has also spent each of those 20 summers here at LuHi Summer Programs in various positions, working his way through the ranks as a counselor, assistant director, athletics coordinator, and program director.

Campers in Adventures on the Road enjoy daily excursions to some of Long Island and New York City’s top educational and entertainment attractions. During the two-week session, campers will venture out on day trips such as stand-up paddleboarding, ziplining through the Long Island Adventure Park, exploring the Atlantis Marine World Aquarium, touring Citi Field, and more! A low camper-to-counselor ratio and our experienced and knowledgeable staff ensure that all campers have a fun, enriching, and safe experience while out on the road!

The Programs’ schedule always consists of day-trips in the Tri-State area. There are certain trips that require an early-drop off in the morning, and/or a late pick-up in the afternoon. Campers unfortunately are unable to utilize our Centralized or Door-to-Door Transportation system during those trips, and must be picked up and/or dropped off on LuHi’s campus. Generally we limit these trips to once or twice a session.
