LuHi’s STEM Select Program is designed for the camper who is interested in investigating the world around them. Campers get a taste of various STEM disciplines, while completing projects in their preferred concentration. Campers can choose to focus on Robotics & Engineering, or Video Game Design.

Robotics & Engineering
LuHi’s Robotics & Engineering Concentration is focused on in-class daily competitions that culminate in a smaller scale FIRST-style robotics event. This includes designing, keeping notes, building, programming, and testing. Students will be working in teams to accomplish tasks in a fun yet competitive environment. The first week is focused on learning and increasing knowledge of the ins and outs of coding, while the second week is focused on programming the obstacle course which is used in the final competition of the program. The program uses LEGO Mindstorms EV3 kits.

Video Game Design
Does your child love playing video games? Wouldn’t it be great if they could design their own unique games to play or challenge their friends with? LuHi’s Video Game Design Program provides an opportunity for just that! This 2-week session will give your child the necessary skills to take his/her creative game ideas and put them into action! Students will learn a foundation in Python and use PyGame to program classic arcade games. If you think you have what it takes, then bring your ideas and enthusiasm, because the limits are endless!
