Joe Cohen is a certified science teacher at Huntington High School and has held that position for over 15 years. For the past 11 years, Joe has been part of the LuHi Summer Programs team, starting as director of the former Forensics program for 6 years and then as director of the G.I.F.T. program for the last 5. Over the years, Joe and his team of top-notch instructors and counselors have cultivated a fun, warm, and inclusive environment for campers of all ages.

G.I.F.T. is an elective-based program with a STEM focus that allows campers to design their own schedule each day. Campers choose from activities in the categories of Science, Technology, Engineering, Woodshop, Sports, and Art and are encouraged not only to choose the activities they know they enjoy but also ones that are completely new to them! The G.I.F.T. staff is comprised of a team of educators, instructors, and coaches that foster exploration, creativity, teamwork, and fun in their campers as they experience all of the possibilities G.I.F.T. has to offer together.
